On 14 September 2023, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation issued a press statement namely, The credibility of the Human Rights Watch has long been tarnished, states the Foreign Ministry’s Spokesperson on their official website.
According to the press, the Foreign Ministry’s Spokesperson has responded to the Human Rights Watch statement on Cambodia’s human rights situation by presenting factual accounts related to human rights in Cambodia, The progress of Sustainable Development Goals and the 2023 general election.
